NAKED AND AFRAID: SPAIN PREMIERES SUNDAY, 12TH JANUARY ON MAX

The first local adaptation of Discovery’s acclaimed international adventure and extreme survival format, now featuring Spanish participants

Produced by Warner Bros. ITVP Spain for Max, this marks the debut Spanish version of a format that has captivated audiences in over 40 countries. With ten seasons and multiple adaptations to its name, Naked and Afraid has become a cornerstone of adventure and extreme survival television. The series will kick off on Max on Sunday, 12th January, bringing the thrill of survival to a whole new audience.

The Format
NAKED AND AFRAID: SPAIN introduces the first ten Spanish participants in the history of the franchise. These six men and four women will face the challenge of surviving for 21 days in the heart of the Colombian jungle—one of the world’s most unforgiving and dangerous environments. Stripped of clothing, without access to food or water, and equipped with only a single tool and one chosen item each, these brave adventurers will embark on the experience of a lifetime.

Divided into five pairs—four mixed-gender teams and one male duo—each participant will need to prove their resilience and adaptability while learning to coexist with a complete stranger.

Unlike the original format, where each episode follows a single pair, NAKED AND AFRAID: SPAIN provides a fresh perspective by tracking the progress of all five pairs simultaneously, allowing viewers to witness the unfolding challenges and dynamics across multiple locations.

Behind the Scenes
NAKED AND AFRAID: SPAIN is a production of Warner Bros. ITVP for Max, with Pablo Abelenda serving as Executive Producer for Warner Bros. ITVP and Melisa Moya as the show’s director. Zaida Serrano-Piedecasas and María Rubio represent Max as producers.

Synopsis
Ten adventurers, divided into five pairs of complete strangers, face 21 days of isolation in the Colombian jungle, battling the elements and the wilderness—all completely naked.

Set across different remote locations, this hostile environment is teeming with predators, insects, and venomous snakes, while temperatures soar to 39 degrees Celsius with 87% humidity. The participants must rely on their ingenuity and grit, using the resources around them to build fires, purify water, and survive the gruelling conditions. Only the most resilient will make it to Day 21.

The adventure begins on Max on Sunday, 12th January.
